The Clay County Health Department was formed by resolution on Dec 29, 1966. One of the main reasons behind the formation of the Health Dept was to provide Home Health care to our residents in Clay County. Even 40 years ago the need to provide medical care in the residents home was understood. Today is certainly no different. The names, faces, and level of care have changed, but the need for home care is still very much the same.
The Clay County Health Department boasts a highly competent Home Health staff, with a combined 240 years of nursing experience. The Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy staff continually produces positive results. The unsung Heroes of our Home Care team are our valued Certified Nurses Assistants. The patients and families develop a special bond with these ladies that often last years beyond the care delivered.
After delivering Home Health care for many years, we eventually grew to realize that something was missing. In order to complete the Circle of Life for our county’s residents, in 2003 Hospice was implemented. Now as an agency, we are able to provide Home Care to not only our recovering patients, but those who are at the end of life as well.
You have a Choice. When additional care is required after a hospital stay, many people are not aware that they have a choice in who provides that care, or that they may ask for Home Care if they feel it is needed. As a county-based home care agency we compete with agencies directly affiliated with hospitals and agencies operating for profit. We encourage you to choose wisely, based on proven quality from professional staff.
I am proud of our Home Health team. Our record speaks for itself. Please take a few moments to visit our website and view the awards and honors we have received that have allowed us to become one of the top 10% of Home Care Agencies in the nation. We don’t just say we are the best, we truly are.
