The Clay County Health Department does not keep vital records or birth certificates for Clay County. Those records may be obtained at the Clay County Clerk's Office located in the Clay County Courthouse, or by calling (618)665-3626.
The Health Department does keep immunization and medical records for patients using the services of the Department.
Dog bites that require medical attention are reported to the Health Department by the medical office which treated the wound.
The Clay County Health Department, which came into existence in 1966, is funded by a number of sources. Those include taxes, fees, licenses and grants provided by state or federal agencies. Please call the Department for a copy of the most recent Annual Report, .
